A week or so I mentioned during a livestream that I’d share we you all my personal statement from when I applied to my undergraduate degree. I’ve already shared my statements from when I applied for my Master’s degree, which you can find here.
I did a BA in Comparative Literature at King’s College London, but I also applied to French BA’s. I was fortunate enough to be offered places by all five universities I applied to. My predicted grades were A*AA. (I might have missed these oops).
I went through 10 drafts, so I figured I should share draft one, draft five and draft ten for a good bit of comparison (man oh man I can’t help but make it comparative can I).
My personal statement is actually built on the application questions I filled out for when I applied to Harvard Summer School (Summer 2015), so draft one is um, actually just those answers. (Sorry about the black on black with the watermark).
DRAFT ONE

DRAFT FIVE

DRAFT TEN (FINAL)

The final draft came to 632 words. There might have been another draft after this, so I can’t be 100% sure this is exactly what I ended up sending off to universities but it’s at least very close to it.

I hope this help with your university apps.
